Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Cake

Ingredients

1 box chocolate fudge cake mix (I prefer Duncan Hines)
3 eggs
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1 block (8 oz.) cream cheese
1 egg
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 cup chocolate chips
1 tub (8 oz.) chocolate flavored Cool Whip*
1 Hershey's Chocolate Bar (for chocolate shavings**)

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, 3 eggs, water and oil. Stir to combine. Add the pecans and stir. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 baking dish.

In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, egg and sugar. Mix until well combined. Add the chocolate chips and stir. Drop by spoonfuls on top of the cake batter. Bake according to cake mix directions. Cool.

Spread chocolate Cool Whip over cooked cake and garnish with chocolate shavings**!

*Or make your own chocolate Cool Whip by mixing together an 8 oz. tub of regular Cool Whip and 1/3 cup chocolate syrup.

**For the shavings, I used a potato peeler on a Hershey's chocolate bar. You can use other chocolate bars if you prefer, but that was what I used. Room temp chocolate works best and use long strokes and go slow. Another option would be to use a mandolin slicer.
