Christmas Scent

December 5th 2017

The holidays are a joyful time. The lights, parties, decorations & of course friends, family and food!

Capture the essence of Christmas with this easy to make scent for your home. Best of all, you can continue adding water and/or apple cider for a few days.

Your home will smell amazing. This also makes a fresh & beautiful gift. Package up the smell of Christmas for friends, neighbors & more.

What you need:

  • 1 ½ cups fresh cranberries
  • 3 tangerines, halved or sliced
  • 3 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp whole cloves
  • 1 inch piece fresh ginger
  • 3 vanilla beans *Note you can use 1 vanilla bean or just substitute vanilla extract if you want to lower the cost*
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 small branch fresh pine
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • Water as needed

What to do:

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a medium-size saucepan. Add water to the pot until it is ¾ full.
  2. Place the pot on the stove and bring to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer, adding more water as needed.
  3. You can continue simmering, being sure to continue adding water, for 2-3 days. Let cool overnight.
  4. Note: This makes a great gift! Just combine all ingredients except apple cider and water, place in mason jar, and gift wrap with instructions.
