Back to Basics: How to Make Whipped Cream

This week on Back To Basics, Whitney shows us How to Make Whipped Cream. Homemade whipped cream is tasty, simple and only uses three ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups heavy cream cold
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

              Directions

              1. Place a medium-sized bowl (preferably metal) in the freezer for at least 10 minutes to chill. 
              2. Once the bowl has chilled, remove from freezer and add heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
              3. Using an electric mixer, beat ingredients on low speed, gradually increasing speed to high, and beat until stiff peaks form. With some patience, this step can also be completed with a whisk.

                    Three ingredients, three steps and then you’re ready to top all of your favorite desserts with fresh homemade whipped cream. Try them on some of our favorites:
