Watch Fresh Dish Foodie, Whitney, make this simple and zesty dish that is perfect for your Fourth of July gathering. Make it your own by substituting chicken, turkey, pork sausage or black beans instead of ground beef. Swap out the black beans for black olives for another tasty twist.

What you need:

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 (1-ounce) package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (8-ounce) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (8-ounce) container sour cream
  • 1/3 cup salsa
  • 1 (8-ounce) package Mexican blend shredded cheese, divided
  • 1 (8-ounce) bag shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1/2 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

What to do:

  1. Cook ground beef with taco seasoning mix as directed on package; let cool.

  3. Arrange black beans on top left corner of dip to resemble stars on the US flag. Add rows of tomatoes and remaining cup of shredded cheese to create stripes.
  4. Refrigerate 30 minutes.
