DIY Floral Arrangements

April 28th 2015

The first signs of Spring after a long Winter are a very welcome sight in the Midwest. We love to hear customers commenting on the beautiful blooms that we offer in stores this time of year. Our dedicated team of floral specialists is happy to help you select fresh flowers for any special occasion, including your own DIY floral project.

If you have ever wanted to learn to make a creation that is all your own- now is the time! Let us help guide you with these easy steps. Before you shop for flowers, be sure to find a vase(s) that might work for your arrangement(s) and don’t forget to add fresh flowers to your shopping list.

During our preparation, we found this vibrant blue vase. To create a bold monochromatic look, we chose blue Hydrangeas to be the focus of this arrangement. The fullness of the Hydrangea will fill up your vase quickly. Cut stems so that the leaves of the Hydrangea gently fall over the top of the vase. Next, to add dimension we used some simple greens for height and baby’s breath for a extra filler. Simple yet distinguished, this arrangement will brighten up any space.

Next, we wanted to create an arrangement with a variety of spring blooms in a taller vase. We placed four tall Bells of Ireland blooms in the vase first. Then added pink Lilies and tried to space them out evenly. A bunch of White Aster Flowers was the perfect addition to the lilies. Pro tip: Add more decorative greenery to make this look just like a store bought bouquet.

Now, sit back and enjoy or have fun brightening someone else's day with your beautiful arrangement.
