Join Fresh Dish Foodie, Whitney, as she creates a healthy alternative to all of the sweets and treats during the holiday season - Festive Fruit Leather!

Follow along as Whitney creates two different flavors of fruit leather. Choose between green apple and mixed berry - or make them both!

Once fully dehydrated, use festive cookie cutters to cut your fruit leather into fun holiday shapes or use a pizza cutter to easily slice into strips.

Green Apple Fruit Leather

  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
  • 6 apples, peeled and diced

Directions:

  1. Add apples, sugar, water, and cinnamon to a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the apples are tender, about 20 minutes. Let cool and transfer to a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth. Add spinach and blend again until completely smooth.
  3. Preheat oven to 200°F. Pour mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Spread evenly.
  4. Hit the baking sheet a few times against the counter to release air bubbles.
  5. Bake for 3 to 5 hours, or until the fruit leather is dry. Cool completely.
  6. Use cookie cutters to make festive shapes.

    Mixed Berry Fruit Leather

    Ingredients:

    • 10 ounces frozen mixed berries, thawed
    • 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
    • 2 tbsp water
    • 3 tbsp sugar

    Directions:

    1. Puree all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
    2. Preheat oven to 200°F. Pour mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Spread evenly.
    3. Hit the baking sheet a few times against the counter to release air bubbles.
    4. Bake for 3 to 5 hours, or until the fruit leather is dry. Cool completely.
    5. Use cookie cutters to make festive shapes.
