The Paleolithic or “caveman” diet continues to gain popularity. For those not familiar, here is an introduction. Paleo diet followers are not eating to try to replicate the actual diet of humans from the Paleolithic era. The diet purports that the nutritional needs of people have not evolved as fast as our modern food options have. Paleo eaters instead focus on the food groups that would have been available 10,000 years ago – meat, seafood, produce and nuts.
